Breeze Director on Anniversary

On 31 January 2013, Breeze FM celebrated its 10th anniversary. In this interview Breeze staffer, Samuel Ndhlovu speaks to Managing Director and station owner Mr. Mike Daka on 10 years of Breeze operations in Eastern Province.

Poor sanitation in rural areas remains a big threat to the achievement of the Millennium Development goals sanitation target in Zambia. This is because most rural communities do not have access to any form of toilet facility.

So who should spearhead campaigns on good sanitation and hygiene in rural areas? A tradition leader, Chief Madzimawe of the Ngoni of Chipata District in Eastern Zambia explains his view on the issue.

“Do what you can, with what you have and where you are” is a common saying. But does the saying work? The people of Chief Kaptamoyo in Chipata, Eastern Zambia are using the saying and their lives have changed for the better. More in this mini radio documentary podcast in the Chinyanja language.



Land in Zambia may be held in two ways. One of the ways, customary land tenure, is administered by traditional authorities, the chiefs in particular. The critics of customary land tenure have called for titling of customary land. So what do the chiefs say on the issue of customary land titling.
