Delay to complete the construction of new Lundazi Community Hospital has continued.
Lundazi Community Medical Officer David Zulu has expressed doubt that the contractor, Mercury Construction Company of Lusaka can finish the project by next month.
Dr. Zulu stated that inadequate funding and the slow pace at which the contractor is moving has negatively affected the completion of the hospital.
He explained that the construction project could be completed only if funding improves.
Dr. Zulu also disclosed that 1.6 million Kwacha out of 10.7 million Kwacha has been paid to the contractor for the on-going works.
Mercury Construction Company engaged under phase 3 is also expected to build 6 staff houses, children and female wards among others.
Dr. Zulu was speaking to Breeze News in an interview in Lundazi.
