Government says it will soon launch the electronic voucher system of distributing government subsidized fertilizer and seed in Eastern Province.
Eastern Province Permanent Secretary, Chanda Kasolo told Breeze News that there has been a lot of misleading information by some people since government announced the system.
Mr. Kasolo was reacting to concerns raised by traditional leaders in Katete district that they have no knowledge on how to go about the E-voucher system.
He says the concerns by traditional leaders are genuine and promised that sensitizations on how to go about the system will start soon as government is busy preparing for the launch of the programme in the province.
Mr. Kasolo says in-house implementation of the E-voucher system has started as some officers are currently undergoing trainings.
Farmers in Chipata, Katete and Petauke districts are expected to receive their inputs under FISP, the Farmer Input Support Program using cards under the newly introduced E-voucher system.
