Government starts decongesting over staffed township schools

The Ministry of Education in Eastern Province has started decongesting township schools, whose staffing levels are high.

Provincial Education Officer, Allan Lingambe has confirmed stating that some teachers have already been transferred to rural schools.

Dr. Lingambe told Breeze News that this is also expected to assist in addressing the shortage of teachers, which most rural schools are facing.

He explained the Ministry of Education has also deployed most of the recently recruited teachers to rural schools to address the staff shortage.

Dr. Lingambe reiterated that teachers, who have just been employed risk losing their jobs if they fail to report for work during the grace period, which will be given after September 15.
