Government will allocate money to most developmental projects whose works are at 85 percent in Eastern Province.
Special Assistant to the President in Charge of projects, Lucky Mulusa says that this will be done to ensure that the projects are commissioned in two months’ time.
Mr. Mulusa said this when he meet Provincial Heads of Government departments in Chipata yesterday.
He directed all heads of government departments to take stock and submit projects that are almost complete to his office.
Mr. Mulusa explained that since the re-introduction of the infrastructure roll out program by late President, Michael Sata, the nation has been faced with a number of challenges due to external forces such as the fall of the copper price on the international market.
He says this led to delay in most developmental projects while some contractors had abandoned the projects because of lack of funding.
Mr Mulusa says government is now ready to fund the stalled projects so that they are completed and commissioned to avoid projects becoming white elephants.
