K1.4 million given to farmer groups in Lundazi

Government has disbursed over 1.4 million kwacha marching Grants to different groups aimed at improving livestock farming in rural communities in Lundazi district.

District Livestock Officer Kelvin Kamphamba has told Breeze News that his office has successfully disbursed the grants to 17 women groups and co-operatives.

He stated that the marching grants called Livestock Improvement Grant Facilities are aimed at improving production in livestock such as piggery, poultry, chicken broilers and got rearing.

Dr. Kamphamba further stated that the beneficiaries are currently on a shopping spree for their livestock.

He mentioned some of the groups that have benefited as Chaboli Women’s Group, Border Support Group, Lundazi Network of People Living with HIV and AIDs, Pamodzi Women and Tione Chitala.

Dr. Kamphamba advised the beneficiaries to take livestock farming as a serious business if they were to reach greater heights.
