The Patriotic Front PF Party has maintained that over 300 MMD, Movement for Multi-Party Democracy members have ditched the party to join PF in Chipangali Constituency.
PF Provincial Spokesperson, Teleka Chirwa has dismissed statements from MMD that the defections were stage managed.
Mr. Chirwa told Breeze News that there is no way that the ruling party could have faked the defections to deceive people.
He has challenged the MMD leadership in Chipangali to be truthful on the matter unlike misleading Chipangali Member of Parliament, Vincent Mwale.
Mr. Mwale and MMD Chipangali Constituency Chairperson, Henry Mbewe yesterday denied claims by PF that over 300 members had left.
Meanwhile Mr. Chirwa denied reports that PF Provincial Chairperson, Lameck Mangani has intentions to contest the Chipangali parliamentary seat in 2016.
He says that Mr. Mangani who held a political rally in Mafuta area of Chipangali constituency recently was simply performing party duties as head of PF in the region.
