Police have arrested two accomplices to notorious Malawian armed robber, Edison Kaziputa Mbewe.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Eugene Sibote confirmed this to journalists in Chipata.
He explained that Tizifa Daka urged 40 of Bauleni and Jacks Nalube of Chilenje compounds both of Lusaka were arrested on Monday.
He says that police recovered a pistol belonging to Malon Mwanza of Chipata from whom 30 thousand Kwacha was stolen in April.
Mr. Sibote says that Edison Kaziputa Mbewe was arrested after being involved in an armed robbery in Vubwi and it was later discovered that he was also part of a robbery in Mtenguleni, where four thousand Kwacha was stolen recently.
He says that from Lusaka, police recovered two vehicles, suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Mr. Sibote says that police are currently looking for a third accomplice, James Ngulube, who is believed to be in Malawi.
He says that in Malawi, Mbewe is wanted for his involvement in armed robberies, where some vehicles were stolen.
