People in the manufacturing business in Chipata have been affected by the current load shedding by ZESCO.
Proprietor of Wonder Feeds, Ishmael Mwale, says that the manufacturing industry has been badly affected with load shedding because most of the work is being done during the day when there is no power.
Mr. Mwale says running a generator during load shedding hours is expensive and leads to profit loss in the business.
And Mr. Mwale who is a beneficiary of the CEEC, Citizen Economic Empowerment Commission has appealed to government to extend the period for paying back loans by manufactures because their business require more time to yield fruits.
He says the current three years is not enough for manufacturing companies to pay all the money back to government.
