Residents of M’chini Compound struggle with diarrhoea diseases due to untreated water.

Diarrhoea diseases are common in M’chini Compound of Chipata district because of untreated water that people drink from unprotected wells.

M’chini Health Post Nurse in Charge, Prudence M’tonga says the health post receives a lot of cases of diarrhoea related diseases especially in children.

Mrs. M’tonga said this when officials from the PF, Patriotic Front Party calling themselves “Friends of Edgar Lungu” donated chlorine and detergent paste valued at about 10 thousand kwacha to the health post.

She says the 100 boxes of chlorine will be distributed to residents of M’chini for free so that they use it to treat drinking water.

And speaking when he made the donation, PF Spokesperson, Frank Bwalya, says the Friends of Edgar Lungu will ensure that they assist the health post with a labour and maternity ward.

Mr. Bwalya says the donation was one way of President Lungu showing good will to the people in the community.
