Some patients admitted at Chipata General Hospital have expressed concern with the drug shortage experienced over the last two weeks.
Speaking to Breeze News on condition of anonymity, the patients expressed shocked that medical staff were telling them that the health facility does not have drugs.
They alleged that they are being told that they need to buy the medicines from the pharmacy in town, if they are to be treated.
And when contacted for comment, Hospital Superintendent, Daniel Makawa, acknowledged that the hospital has been experiencing shortage for some of the drugs.
He stated that this was due to delayed transportation of the drugs by the Medical Stores.
Dr. Makawa however, says that the truck of medicine arrived yesterday and assured that the situation will normalize by today.
