UPND youths to shun this years’ Youth Day commemoration because of high unemployment levels.

United Party for National Development UPND youths in Eastern Province say that they will not participate in this year’s Youth Day commemoration, which falls on March 12.
UPND Provincial Youth Chairperson, Mathews Phiri says that this follows an instruction issued by UPND General Secretary, Winston Chibwe.
Mr. Phiri also told Breeze News that there is nothing to celebrate about, because the country has high unemployment levels.
Mr. Phiri further says that poverty levels among the youths are high since government has not fulfilled its promise to put more money in people’s pockets.
However, on Wednesday Republican President, Michael Sata indicated that 1,570 jobs have been created from road construction projects in Eastern Province.
