ZABS orders traders to stop selling Lyons Peanut Butter

The Zambia Bureau of Standards ZABS has advised dealers stocking Lyons Peanut Butter to stop selling it with immediate effect.

Head of Marketing and Public Relations Hazel Zulu has further advised dealers to surrender the product to ZABS offices situated in all provincial centres.

Mrs Zulu says that this is because the Lyons Peanut Butter was found to have failed to meet one of the Zambian Peanut Butter Standards.

She says that ZABS has since instructed its inspectors in provincial centres to ensure that the product is not being sold by anyone.

Mrs Zulu has advised consumers not to consume the product stating that they need to be alert.

Last week ZABS seized Lyons Peanut Butter worth over 300,000 Kwacha from traders in Lusaka.
