ZNUT worried over political violence

The Zambia National Union of Teachers ZNUT has condemned political violence that has characterised some parts of the country.

ZNUT Chipata District Chairperson Isaac Ngoma says that reports that suspected UPND cadres burnt down government offices in Lukulu district of Western Province are regrettable.

Speaking to Breeze News, Mr. Ngoma says that ZNUT hopes that police will adequately deal with the matter, so that it does not spread to other parts of the country.

He noted that government offices provide necessary services to the people and should not be politicised for political expedience.

Meanwhile Mr. Ngoma has congratulated all teachers that participated in the general elections, stating that they did a professional job.
