15 ZRA officers suspended in Ndola

The Zambia Revenue Authority ZRA has suspended 15 members of staff at its Ndola office for misconduct, pending investigations by the Internal Affairs Unit.

This is according to statement issued by the ZRA Corporate Communications Unit Research and Planning Department availed to Breeze News.

The suspension, which led into investigations, is as a result of alleged dishonest conduct, which borders on the integrity of ZRA.

The offices are alleged to have received bribes from Clearing Agents in order to facilitate quick processing of entries and under-valuation of goods.

ZRA has also suspended 27 licenses of Clearing Agents on similar allegations and the matter has been reported to law enforcement agencies for a thorough investigation.

And the ZRA says that it will not in any way condone any form of dishonest conduct or misconduct either by its officers, clearing agents or clients.
