President, Michael Sata has invited Director General of the Food Agricultural Organisation FAO Dr. Jose Graziano Da Silva to visit Zambia.
President Sata says that Dr. Da Silva should visit Zambia for an on-the-spot check of the various programmes FAO is supporting in the country.
The Head of State has emphasised that a visit to Zambia and engagements with local technocrats is the only practical way that would assist FAO to appreciate the situation on the ground and tailor specific programmes for the country.
In a press statement availed to Breeze News by President Sata’s Special Press Aid, George Chellah, the head of state was speaking when he held a bilateral meeting with Dr. Da Silva in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
And Dr. Da Silva expressed gratitude to President Sata for the efforts being made to achieve mutual cooperation and benefit between Zambia and FAO.
Meanwhile President Sata has told Roll-Back Malaria Partnership Executive Director Dr. Fatoumata Nafo- Traore that Zambia has made significant strides in the fight against malaria.
He also invited the Roll-Back Malaria Partnership to visit the country and work with relevant agencies to contribute to the fight against Malaria.
And Dr. Nafo- Traore applauded the efforts already made by the Zambian Government adding that the partnership was committed to visiting Zambia and supplementing Government efforts.
