A 12 year old girl of Kapata Township in Chipata has been defiled by a man whose age is not yet known.
And a 6 year old girl of the same area believed to be a young sister to the defiled girl has been assaulted on her body parts by the same man.
Eastern Province Deputy Commissioner of Police, Alfred Nawa who confirmed this says that the girl was defiled on Saturday around 18 hours.
Mr. Nawa says that the man who is currently on the run and is not related to the girls entered the house where the girls are staying then defiled and assaulted the two sisters.
Mr. Nawa says that the incident was reported to the police by the guardian to the two girls who was not at home when it happened.
And Mr. Nawa says that police are investigating a case where a Zambian truck driver from Nyimba district was found dead in Mozambique.
Mr. Nawa says that James Milanzi aged 33, working as a driver for Sushi or T and T transport of Kapiri Mposhi went missing on Thursday last week and was discovered dead on the second day.
He says that the matter was reported to Chipata Central Police Station adding that the matter is being investigated.
