A 30 year old man has been murdered in Chief Magodi’s area in Lundazi district by his colleagues who also chopped off his private parts and attempted to sell them in Malawi.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Eugene Sibote has confirmed the brutal murder to Breeze News.
He says that Chikani Nyirongo of Khulamayembe village was killed last week on Thursday by Isaac Nyirongo 31, of Jeke Village and Malizyani Phiri of Chiwota Village in Chief Magodi’s area.
Mr Sibote says the suspects turned on their colleague in Mzimba District of Malawi stabbing him on the head using unknown sharp instruments before using other sharp instruments to remove his private parts.
He says after the incident, a Malawian national reported the matter to police who picked up the two men around 20:00 hours on the same day and found them with the private parts.
Mr Sibote however, says Malizyani managed to escape from the police officers and is currently on the run while Isaac who is in police custody has been charged with murder.
And Police in Nyimba district have arrested Teddy Mutondwe 32 of Mtendere Township in Lusaka for causing death of two people.
Meanwhile police in Petauke district have impounded a truck full of Mukula logs.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Eugene Sibote says that the Lusaka bound Volvo truck, which had no registration, was found with Mukula logs on Thursday last week.
He says police are trying to locate the driver and the owner of the truck using records of the truck, which is now parked at Petauke Police Station.
