The Chipata High Court has jailed a-31-year –old school teacher of Chadiza District to 30 years imprisonment with hard labour for killing his girlfriend.
Appearing before High Court Judge Eddie Sikazwe was George Nyawali of Kadzionela Basic School, who was convicted on one count of murdering his girlfriend, Esther Mwale contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
The accused school teacher committed the offence when he was 29 –years-old.
Particulars of the offence were that on but between 20th and 21st November 2011, the accused allegedly murdered his girlfriend believed to be pregnant and dumped her body in Chadzombwe stream.
The body was later retrieved and physical inspection was conducted and found Esther with a deep cut.
And Justice Sikazwe also slapped eight years sentence with hard labour to a Chipata based General worker for manslaughter contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
Hassan Mazyopa 30 of Nabvutika Township who earlier was charged with murder is alleged to have killed his in-law Simon Phiri on 8th January 2011 using a stick at Kapata Township.
