A 41 year old peasant farmer hospitalised in Lundazi after being attacked by a hyena.

A 41 year old peasant farmer of Chama district is nursing wounds in the Lundazi Community Hospital after being attacked by a hyena.

 

Narrating the ordeal to Breeze News from his hospital bed, Lottie Mbuzi of Kankomba village under Chief Chikwa says the hyena attacked him when he was fast asleep outside his house.

Mr. Mbuzi explained that the incident happened on Friday night and that he was only rescued by his three children.

He was left him with cuts in the head, legs and hands.

Mr. Mbuzi says that ZAWA, Zambia Wildlife Authority officers rushed him to Lundazi community hospital for medication.

And Lundazi ZAWA Officer in-charge, Patrick Sakanga has reminded people leaving in the game management areas to always be careful.

He however, indicated that his officers are already on the ground to control the animals from further attacking people.
