A 51 year old headman has been murdered by his nephew in Lundazi district over leadership wrangle.

A 51 year old headman has been axed to death by his nephew in Lundazi district.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Grace Chipalaila has confirmed the incident to Breeze News this morning.
Ms. Chipalila says that Benson Tembo who is headman Mgidi was murdered by his nephew Tryson Tembo aged 38 after he was axed twice in the head.
She says that the incident happened after the two relatives differed over the issue of leadership.
Ms. Chipalila says that police have since launched a manhunt for Tryson Tembo who is currently on the run.
Meanwhile a 24 year old man has died after being hit with a stick on the head by a 14 year old boy in Chipata district.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner Grace Chipalila confirmed the incident which occurred around 23 hours on Monday at Chindime village in Chief Chanje’s area.
Mrs. Chipalira says that Mufayo Banda was hit with a stick by Waxon Chirwa in the camp house locally known as “Dambwe” where they were camping as the Gule wamkulu group members.
Mrs. Chipalira says that Banda died on the spot and his body is currently lying in Chipata General Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
She says that the suspect is on the run and police are investigating the case.
