A church building constructed on land for M’chini Graveyard in Chipata.

Chipata Municipal Council has expressed ignorance over the existence of a church building at M’chini graveyard.
Council spokesperson, Taonga Kaonga told Breeze News that the local authority did not authorize anyone to construct a church building close to the graveyard.
Ms. Kaonga says that the council will follow up the matter and find a lasting solution.
She was reacting to concerns from some M’chini residents who wanted to know if the council is aware of a church that has been constructed near M’chini graveyard.
The residents also expressed concern with the bad scent coming from the dumpsite near the graveyard which they said is not good for human health.
In response Ms. Kaonga says that the council has been removing the garbage and will check on the current situation.
