A critical shortage of fuel has hit Chadiza district for 6 days now.
A check by Breeze News found motorists buying the commodity from vendors at the market.
And the motorists complained over exorbitant prices at which vendors are selling their fuel.
The vendors are selling a 5 litre container of petrol at 70 Kwacha while a 2.5 litre container is being sold at 35 Kwacha.
SGC filling station, which is the only filling station that provides fuel in the district, ran out of both diesel and petrol on Saturday last week.
District Station Manager Obby Miyanda said the delay in fuel supply was due to breakdown of the two tanker trucks that ferry fuel from Lusaka to Chadiza.
Mr Miyanda said 20, 000 litres of both petrol and diesel is expected in the district today.
He also indicated that plans are underway to extend fuel storage tanks at the station.
