Residents of Kapata and Katopola areas in Chipata have not had piped water for two days now.
This has forced residents from the two areas to be fetching water from Lunkwakwa and M’thilansembe streams.
And Eastern Water and Sewerage Company Public Relations Officer, Henry Kashoki says that the critical shortage of water in the two areas is due to a pipe burst on two main pipes.
Mr. Kashoki says that a 250 millimetre water pipe in Kapata got damaged on Saturday and is being worked on.
Mr. Kashoki added that people in Kapata and Katopola area are expected to have a normal supply of water later on Monday.
A critical shortage of water supply has hit Kapata and Katopola areas in Chipata for two days now.
