A feasibility study for 2030 investment demand on Chipata water system has commenced.
And Gauff Engineering of Lusaka has been contracted to carry-out the feasibility study.
Eastern Water and Sewerage Company Managing Director Lytone Kanowa says that the contractor is expected to come up with a document with designs for water system in Chipata.
He says that the designs will be used to source for funds from Government through National Urban Water and Sanitation basket from the Ministry of Local Government and Housing.
The feasibility study is expected to be completed by June this year.
And Mr. Kanowa says the company will continue Soliciting for funds in order to improve services.
The Managing Director says the utility company is focusing on the improvement of production through acquiring a new pump for Lutembwe Dam One and expansion of Dam Two at a cost of 9 million Kwacha.
Mr Kanowa says the procurement of the new pump is under way through emergency works for Chipata.
