A new truck for collecting garbage in Chipata, parked for five months.

Government has expressed disappointment with the delay by Chipata Municipal Council to commission the skip bin truck for collecting garbage.
Chipata District Commissioner, Kalunga Zulu says that about 100 thousand Kwacha was spent to purchase the truck which has been lying idle at the council for the past five months.
He wondered why the council has decided not to be utilising the skip bin truck, when Chipata town has a lot of heaps of uncollected garbage.
Mr. Zulu was speaking during a climate change meeting at his office.
He directed the council to release the skip bin truck to the Climate change committee that will be cleaning the streets in readiness for the launch next week.
Last month, Chipata Municipal Council Town Clerk, Davies Musenge indicated that the council is waiting for a ceremonial official launch of the truck before starting to utilise it.
