A system disturbance on the 330 KV power line at Leopards Hill Sub Station in Lusaka plunged Eastern and three other provinces into darkness yesterday.
Eastern Province ZESCO Regional Manager, Joseph Chilongo confirmed the power blackout, which lasted almost four hours.
Mr. Chilongo explained that the system disturbance knocked out Kabwe One, Two and Three power lines as well as the Kabwe-Pesulo power line, which supplies Eastern Province.
Northern, Mchinga, Luapula and some parts of Copperbelt province were all affected by the power blackout.
The power interruption, which occurred around 15:30 hours was only restored at about 19:20 hours.
A power blackout hits four provinces including Eastern for almost four hours.
