A village headman in Chief Mwasemphangwe’s area in Lundazi district has complained of lack of development in the area.
Headman Tebulo, Duncan Nyirenda, told Breeze News that the area has no safe drinking water as people walk long distances of about 6 kilometers to fetch water in shallow wells.
Mr. Nyirenda says that Apollo Dam where over 6 million domestic animals rely on for water is at the verge of drying up while most roads are in a deplorable state.
He also complained over lack of teachers at Kabulinde Primary School, stating that only two teachers are attending to pupils from grade 1 to 7.
Headman Tebulo says lack of a veterinary point and clinic are also among challenges in the area, as people walk distances of about 12 kilometers to access medical help from Apollo clinic.
The traditional leader says he feels sidelined in terms of development and has urged government to address the challenges in his area.
