People of Walela area in Chipata have appealed to government to help rebuild their houses which collapsed following heavy winds.
Speaking on behalf of the residents, Musanga Ward Councilor, Alick Banda says from last month when heavy winds left a trail of destruction on over 14 houses, no help has come from government.
Mr. Banda says he reported the matter to the District Administrative office for help and is still waiting for a response.
He says some people have even started building the houses while others cannot manage.
Mr Banda added that the one by two classroom block at Walela Primary School whose roof was blown off has also not yet been repaired.
He has asked government to quickly intervene in the matter and help the people of Walela who have been left homeless.
