About 2.2 million Kwacha released to Eastern Province for Youth Empowerment Fund.

Government has disbursed over two million Kwacha under YDF, the Youth Development Fund to Eastern Province.
Sports, Youth and Child Development Minister, Vincent Mwale confirmed to Breeze News that a total of two million, two hundred and fourteen thousand, seven hundred and twenty Kwacha has been disbursed to the province.
Mr. Mwale says that this is out of 43 million Kwacha that has been disbursed to 1,300 youth groups across the country for 2012 and 2015 YDF.
He says that government has introduced a YDF loan repayment system by opening a Youth Development bank account where beneficiaries will be depositing the accrued amounts.
Mr. Mwale has urged the beneficiaries of YDF to ensure that they pay back the loans stating that government will closely monitor the beneficiaries to ensure that they are using the loans for the intended purpose of growing their businesses.
Mr. Mwale says that the funds are not political and should be accessed by all Zambian youths regardless of their political affiliation.
And the minister says that government is still recovering the money from the past beneficiaries of YDF.
