About two thousand farmers in Eastern Province have received farming inputs under FSP, the Food Security Pack programme.
Eastern Province Community Development Officer Banabas Musonda confirmed this to Breeze News.
Mr Musonda says all the farmers in the Province have received the farming inputs except for Urea which is expected to be distributed next week.
He explained that the pack under FSP contains a ten kilogram bag of maize seed, one bag of D Compound fertilizer and ten kilogram of either groundnuts or beans seed.
Mr Musonda says only farmers from Mambwe and Lundazi districts received rice.
Meanwhile Mr Musonda has denied statements that the same people are benefiting from the programme in Eastern Province.
He says proper procedure is followed when identifying the beneficiaries adding that each district is only allowed to identify one hundred and twenty beneficiaries, who receive the inputs for two years.
