About 70 per cent of the roads works for the upgrading of township roads in Chipata District have been completed.
And additional township road works have been included to the initial 15 kilometres, which was supposed to be worked on.
Director of Engineering at Chipata Municipal Council Costen Gideon Mvula confirmed this to Breeze News in an interview.
Mr. Mvula says that Sable Construction Company is now working on Kalindawalo road and is expected to complete the works soon.
He says the road that branches from Umodzi Highway near NAPSA building to Chipata Central Hospital road is also being worked on to easy transportation of patients.
Mr. Mvula appealed to the general public to be patient as the council is doing everything possible to see to it that township roads are upgraded within a shortest possible time.
He says that once completed the roads will attract more investment in the district.
