Armed robbers grab 195, 000 Kwacha from a Zambia Breweries employee.

Police in Chipata have launched a manhunt for three suspects in connection with a broad daylight aggravated robbery where 195, 000 Kwacha was stolen from a Zambia Breweries employee.
Eastern Division Deputy Police Commissioner Alfred Nawa said the incident occurred on Umodzi Highway around 13hours near Hillside Girls secondary school on Monday.
This incident happened when a Zambia Breweries cashier, Wilson Ngulube was on his way to deposit cash at Barclays bank.
Mr Nawa stated that as the vehicle reached Hillside Girls, an oncoming vehicle flashed lights and blocked him and the driver; three people then disembarked and went to their vehicle where they forced themselves into the vehicle through the rear passenger door.
He said Mr Ngulube used a hired Toyota Corolla registration number ABK 981 which was being driven by Samuel Moyo.
Mr Nawa said the three suspects who were armed with unknown type of firearms then sprayed the occupants of the vehicle with chilly.
He stated that the driver was held at gunpoint and ordered to drive to St. Monica’s and later along Malawi road to Mwami border.
The police deputy commissioner further said the occupants of the vehicle were later forced out of the vehicle at a bush where they were tied to a tree and left.
Mr Nawa said the assailants got away with the motor vehicle, 195, 000 Kwacha cash and a cheque worth 55, 418 kwacha.
