Armed robbers have stolen a Toyota Land Cruiser and 10,000 Kwacha rebased cash from two people in Petauke’s Fairview Compound.
Provincial Assistant Commissioner of Police, Alfred Nawa has confirmed the incident to Breeze News stating that the armed robbers also stole two cells phones and a decoder from another resident.
Mr. Nawa says that in the first incident, police received a report from a man of Fairview Compound, Fhoney Phiri aged 28 years, who was robbed of a Toyota Land Cruiser as well as two of his cell phones.
In the second incident, another man only identified as Kula aged 53 years, a businessman was also robbed of 10, 000 Kwacha rebased, a Black berry cell phone, 2 Nokia cell phones, 1 Chinese phone and a DSTV decoder.
The mob consisting of 5 criminals armed with unknown firearms are still on the run and are suspected to have escaped into Mozambique.
