Artists in Eastern Province have commended President Edger Lungu for pardoning musician, Clifford Dimba who was serving an 18 year jail term for defilement.
Provincial Arts Advisory Committee chairperson, Samuel Immileko Phiri says that President Lungu’s move should be appreciated as Dimba has shown repentance through the songs he has done while in prison.
He, however, says that Dimba still has a lot of work to help in educating people against the gender based violence.
And Mr. Phiri has cautioned artists against using art as an avenue to commit crime.
He advised artists to lead by example in society, as they are role models to many young people.
