The Saturday market executive committee has maintained that it will not give trading plots to outsiders.
Vice Chairperson Florida Lungu told Breeze News that traders from other markets will not benefit from the plots that are being given to its members.
Ms. Lungu says some traders from other markets are going with money to ask the committee to sell them plots in the market.
She says the committee will not allow that kind of transaction to take place at the Saturday market adding that only eligible traders from within Saturday market will benefit.
Ms. Lungu disclosed that each trader will pay 3,600 kwacha to Chipata Municipal Council for the plot adding that the payment will be in instalments for those that do not have enough money.
And a check by Breeze News found that some shops have been constructed up to roof level.
