The long awaited ballot papers for the September 5 Mkaika Parliamentary by election have arrived.
The ballot papers arrived last night from South Africa aboard a KLM passenger plane.
The plane carrying the ballot papers touched down Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at about 22:15 hours.
Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ Senior Electoral Officer, Zachariah Kunda said parties taking part in the Mkaika by election were free to witness the inspection of the ballot papers.
Four candidates taking part in the September 5 Mkaika by-election are David Phiri for the PF, Peter Phiri for MMD, Nigel Mpakateni for NAREP and Nelson Mwale for UNIP.
The Mkaika seat fell vacant after David Phiri who was occupying the seat under MMD decided to ditch the former ruling party to join PF.
