Cabinet Office has warned WDCs, Ward Development Committees against involving themselves in politics.
Director of Decentralization at Cabinet Office Alfred Sakwiya has reminded all citizens that WDCs must not be used for political purposes especially when the country goes for the polls in August.
He explained that the terms of reference for these structures clearly bar the committees from engaging in political activities.
Speaking to Breeze News, Mr Sakwiya has warned that Central Government will not hesitate to suspend any WDC that will engage itself in such activities.
He has appealed to the established WDCs to remain focused on the purpose of citizen representation on non-partisan basis.
And Mr Sakwiya has indicated that the process of establishing demonstrations for WDCs has continued country wide and the work is expected to be completed by mid-2016
