Catholic Bishop George Lungu calls for strong ties between the church and traditional leaders.

Chipata Diocese Bishop George Lungu has called for strong ties between the church and traditional leaders.
Bishop Lungu said this on Sunday when he addressed parishioners at Saint Atanazio Catholic Church in Chipata.
The clergyman says that there is need for close relationship between the Church and traditional leadership in order to foster development.
Bishop Lungu says meaningful development cannot take place when the two work in isolation.
The prelate has also described Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni People as a humble person.
Bishop Lungu says that the late father to paramount chief Mpezeni worked closely with the church on a number of issues.
The bishop says that the traditional leader once asked for a parish near Feni to which he had no option but to declare St Gabriel Outstation as a sub parish.
He says he will in due course declare the sub parish, a full parish as long as the much needed support is given.
Paramount Chief Mpezeni was among the Christians that attend the church service.
