Works of constructing a wall fence at the new bus station in Chadiza district have stalled due to lack of funding.
Chadiza District Council Secretary Kennedy Kazanda has confirmed stating that the local authority is still waiting for another CDF, Constituency Development Fund allocation to complete the works.
Mr Kazanda however, said that the construction of the CDF funded bus shelter has been completed and that what is remaining are minor inside works and the construction of the wall fence.
He said that paving inside the shelter has not yet been done because Avex Contractors has not yet completed working on drainages and culverts at the two gates of the bus station.
Mr Kazanda said that Avex Contractors has assured the local authority that the drainages and culverts will be done soon.
Mr Kazanda said this during the ordinary council meeting held in Chadiza district yesterday.
He was responding to a question from Naviluli Ward Councillor Misheck Phiri who wanted to know why works at the bus station have not yet been completed.
