Chadiza district has received 40 million Kwacha for periodic and routine maintenance of feeder roads from the Ministry of Local Government and Housing.
The district has also received 18 million Kwacha for upgrading township roads to tarmac level.
Council Chairperson Richard Zimba confirmed this in an interview with Breeze News.
Mr. Zimba says that an undisclosed amount has also been given for street lightening.
And Mr. Zimba says that he is happy that one of the banks has confirmed that it will establish its operations in the district by April this year.
He says that the council has approved the awarding of the plot where the bank will be constructed.
