Charles Zulu and Yosi Miti differ over PF adoption

Confusion has ensued in the adoption process for parliamentary candidates on the Patriotic Front PF ticket in Luangeni Constituency of Chipata District.

One of the aspiring candidates, Yosi Miti says he is disappointed that the sitting MP, Charles Zulu is boasting of having been adopted by President Edgar Lungu when he did not even attend any interviews.

Mr. Miti told Breeze News that Mr. Zulu’s statement is misleading people because there is no way he can be adopted without passing through the normal adoption process of applying and being interviewed.

Mr. Miti has called on the PF Provincial leadership to intervene in the matter and warned Mr. Zulu to stop misleading people because the statement is disadvantaging other aspirants.

But when contacted for a comment, Mr. Zulu rubbished the concern stating that he does not play politics of the belly but has a passion to develop his constituency which has made the PF allow him to work for them as Deputy Minister.

He advised Mr. Miti to contact President Edgar Lungu on the matter because he will decide whether to join the PF or stand as an independent candidate once parliament is dissolved next week.

And PF Provincial Chairperson, Andrew Lubusha advised the aspiring candidates to wait for the National Executive Committee to adopt a candidate of their choice.

He explained that the adoption process is still on, as the party is waiting for parliament to be dissolved so that the sitting MP’s can be given chance to apply.
