Casual workers at Chipata Municipal Council who had gone for three months without salaries have been paid two months salaries.
The casual workers last week complained that they did not get their July, August and September salaries.
And Chipata Municipal Council Director of Administration, Brian Mazuba told Breeze News that the local authority is doing everything possible to ensure that they clear out the one month owed salaries.
He explained that the local authority is facing some challenges which delayed the payment of workers but has now been resolved.
Mr. Mazuba added that the council is in the process of realigning the work force so that it operates efficiently.
He says that this is because some people are not working according to the expectation of the local authority.
He says the realignment process is for all division one, two and three workers.
