Chipata General Hospital overwhelmed by people seeking, Anti-retroviral treatment.

Inadequate CD4 count machines in Chipata are causing congestion at Chipata General Hospital.
A CD4 count machine is used to check the immune system of an HIV positive person.
Chipata General Medical Superintendent, Daniel Makawa told Breeze News that the hospital only has one CD4 count machine, which creates congestion.
Dr. Makawa acknowledged that one CD4 count machine is not enough to cater for many people on ART, Anti-retrial treatment at Chipata General Hospital.
He explained that the number of people seeking ART services at Chipata General Hospital has risen following the closure of the services at Society for Family Health.
Dr. Makawa indicated that only Chipata General Hospital, Mwami Mission Hospital and Kapata clinic in Chipata urban have functional CD4 count machines.
