Chipata has achieved a hundred per cent coverage in distribution of ITNs, Insecticide Treated Nets under the Ministry of Health.
This has been confirmed to Breeze News by the District Medical Officer, Dr. Davis Simwaba.
Dr. Simwaba, says that his office received 84, 000 nets in July, and that the targeted areas for the distribution exercise included Madzimoyo, Kapata, Mchini and Chikungu areas.
However, he was quick to note that new houses that were constructed recently may not benefit from the exercise since they were not accounted for prior to the distribution exercise.
Dr. Simwaba further appealed to the recipients to use the nets instead of just keeping them.
Last year, the Eastern Province recorded the highest malaria prevalence rate.
