Chipata starts receiving Urea fertilizer under the Farmer Input Support Programme.

Chipata district has started receiving Urea fertilizer, with 3, 000 by 50 kilogrammes bags already delivered.

District Agricultural Coordinator, Michael Ngulube says his office is still expecting 600 by 50 kilogramme bags of the fertiliser.

He says that the district has also received all the maize seed which was allocated, amounting to 43, 930 by 10 kilogrammes, and 360 by 20 kilogrammes bags of groundnut seed.

Mr Ngulube expressed satisfaction with the progress so far, adding that 45 per cent of the distribution exercise in the district had been achieved so far.

The only input remaining is cotton seed, which he says is likely to come in any time soon.
