Chipata Zambia Breweries robbed

Six robbers Monday morning broke into Chipata Breweries and stole property worth thousands of Kwacha.

Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Alex Chilufya has confirmed to Breeze News the incident that happened around 02 hours.

Mr. Chilufya who did not mention the value of the stolen goods says the six men were armed with iron bars, machetes and axes.

They stole a laptop and three cell phones after tying up five workers and two security watchmen.

Mr. Chilufya says the robbers who spoke deep Malawian Chewa did not injure anyone and no money was stolen.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chilufya says police have picked up a body of an unidentified man aged between 25 to 30 years old around 01 hours Monday morning along Chipata Motel road.

Mr. Chilufya says the man had deep cuts on the head, waist, left lower jaw and some fire burns on his body.

He says blood traces showed that the body was dragged from Kapata location to where it was dumped in Chipata motel area.

Mr. Chilufya says the body is currently in the Chipata Central Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem and identification.
