Chief government spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili has urged media houses in Eastern Province to be accurate in reporting.
Speaking to Breeze News in Petauke, Mr Kambwili who is also information minister urged journalists to follow their code of ethics and avoid misleading the public.
Mr. Kambwili toured Radio Explorer and Pasme Community Radio Station before holding a meeting with heads of government departments in the district.
The minister urged the civil servants to work extra hard to foster development in the country.
And Mr. Kambwili has expressed disappointment with some civil servants who do not understand government projects.
Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Eastern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Zechariah Luhanga this morning, the minister stated that these civil servants were failing to explain the projects to the masses.
He says that civil servants need to understand that they are the engine of government developmental projects.
Meanwhile the information and broadcasting services minister says that Eastern Province is blessed with a number of media houses.
He says government is appreciative to the role the media is playing in the province as far as information dissemination is concerned.
