Congestion of traders hits Saturday market in Chipata

Authorities at Saturday Market in Chipata have accepted that the trading area is now congested due to vendors, who were trading along Umodzi Highway.
Market Chairperson, Peter Soko however, says that the congestion will be sorted out within two weeks.
Speaking to Breeze News, Mr. Soko explained that the market was congested because of construction works of a market shelter.
He says that the works are expected to be completed by today and that once this is done, traders will be properly settled.
Mr. Soko further explained that the market shelter will be expected to accommodate 200 marketeers.
Traders in the market have complained of congestion, which results in some of them spending the whole day without selling any of their products.
