Construction works of the 26 million Kwacha Luangeni Shopping Mall in Chipata will start in October.

Construction works of the 26 million Kwacha Luangeni Shopping Mall in Chipata, which were supposed to start in July, will now start in October.
Luangeni Shopping Mall Proprietor, Liver Tembo has told Breeze Business News that the project has delayed because the company has not yet obtained title deeds for the site where the shopping will be constructed.
Mr. Tembo however, says that the company has received a plot number from the Ministry of Lands and that a surveyor will today move on site to put beacons and come up with diagrams.
He also explained that the diagrams will then be submitted to Ministry of Lands so that they can finally process the title deeds.
Mr. Tembo explained that without title deeds, the company cannot register a bond against the property to secure funding from the bank.
He says that the project, which will be constructed in two phases, will now include a hotel apart from the anchor tenant, shops and conference facilities.
